Emile et Ida's collections are always brimming with cheerful designs that are easy to wear. Fabrics are soft and natural and folk, rock, romantic and retro influences can be often be felt. Their clothing is simple and comfortable, never boring and most importantly of all, perfectly suited to the busy and active life of a child.

The brand's creators, Delpine and Céline, are themselves the grandchildren of tailors and Emile et Ida started life in the family home, supported and encouraged by those closest to them and grown through hard work, perseverance and the desire to create something special.

The collections are almost exclusively produced in Europe, predominantly in Portugal due to their world-class expertise in textiles, and always in factories where pay and working conditions are fair. Where possible, transportation is made by road so as to limit carbon footprint and partners throughout the production chain have been carefully selected to minimise waste.

Their SS21 collection has the loveliest retro vibe and features fruits, florals, and stripes for girls and boys, from baby right through to adult.

The Floral Blouse in Ecru has such a deliciously vintage feel to it. Block printed with flowers in shades of pink, this top has the prettiest ruffled short sleeves that are edged with a small, hand-finished picot stitch making every blouse just that little bit unique. The brand have established close and valued relationships with some of India's most talented artisans and their skills are so beautifully demonstrated on items such as this blouse.

The Cherry Jersey Skirt is SUCH a favourite here and is available in both cream and dusty pink colour ways. Made from a light organic cotton it looks absolutely beautiful with a simple white tee  - its a really easy to wear style and, with an elasticated waistband should be good for several summers. If you are a fan of the fruity theme you must check out the Pineapple Jersey Skirt in the most gorgeous caramel tone, I wish this one came in my size!

Unisex but just fabulous for boys (and also available in an orange colour-way) is the vanilla short sleeve t-shirt with banana print - this looks great with just about everything! The striped tees in dusty pink/orange and ecru/grey are also proving really popular with mums of boys and are such a good match with the pocketed Terry shorts that come in grey and orange.

The gorgeous Checkered Lurex Dress in Beige comes in both baby and kid sizes, the styles vary slightly so would make for some beautiful twinning without being too matchy-matchy! The older children's dress is a sleeveless style in beige and yellow check cotton crepe with lurex woven through and can be worn loosely or adjusted by tightening the tie at the waist, this one has so many 70's feels for me, the colours and the style are so reminiscent of my own childhood.

A whopping thirty-five items make up the women's collection this season and our selection includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, blouses, skirts, dresses, trousers as well as a super simple but really flattering sleeveless jumpsuit which I've worn myself this week and is beautifully soft. We've chosen lots of easy-to-wear everyday options if like me, most days are ALL about being practical but there are several really special gems lurking in the womenswear too.

I can't let this blog post pass without making mention of the exquisite women's long vintage dress in ecru cotton voile. It is just bursting with delicate detailing from inlaid lace to embroidered flowers, it really is the prettiest thing and my absolute favourite of the collection.

This really is a lovely collection for both girls and boys, spanning baby right through to adult. Just perfect for those sunny days, which I am thrilled to say have FINALLY arrived here in the UK! Emile et Ida, the complete collection, online now.
