MP Denmark was founded in Herning, Denmark in 1937 by Martin Pedersen using a single knitting machine in his grandma's basement. The factory developed rapidly and shortly afterwards Martin builds his first proper factory in the small town of Tjørring outside Herning in Denmark. MP is still located today in the middle of Jutland, Herning, Denmark and although most of the knitting machines have been moved to Latvia (EU) to reduce production and labour cost, MP still have full functioning and active vintage knitting machines in the production hall in Denmark. These machines are still used today in creating the samples and developing product lines.
For more than 75 years now MP have produced socks and tights with respect for health, comfort and the environment. Socks and tights are closely knitted with a strong heel and toe and produced at MP's own factory from Oeko-Tex certified yarn – and they’re of such good quality that families describe how the socks often prove their sustainability by being passed down from one child to the next. The aim of the brand is simple : happy, healthy feet.
