Hevea was created by Terese Hoffeldt when she couldn't find a smartly designed natural rubber pacifier for her new-born baby. Together with graphic designer Ida, the butterfly-shaped pacifier was developed for maximum functionality. Hevea’s ethos is firmly rooted in the Danish design tradition that merges form and function, with the goal of creating timeless, non-toxic and sustainable pieces that stand the test of time.
All Hevea products are made from the natural rubber sap and the wood, which is biodegradable. Using natural rubber and rubber wood, rather than synthetic rubber made from oil or petroleum, acts against climate change by increasing the number of trees and cutting back on the use of fossil fuels. Rubber trees can also be sustainably harvested for at least 35 years, and rubber is naturally biodegradable, resulting in a planet-friendly product. All packaging is also FSC certified.
