Even though dachshunds are very small, they have great self-confidence. Nevertheless, they are very friendly and very patient dogs. In the past, these brave animals were used as hunting dogs. Their long, slender bodies were ideal for following badgers through their narrowly constructed tunnels.

Fun fact: Dachshunds are very short. Their shoulder height is only about 35 cm.
