Back To Basics
Christmas - that crazy, wondrous period of excess - how we LOVE it!! Inevitably we've overdone it again this year and whilst the focus still firmly remains on ploughing through the five (!) remaining boxes of chocolates before the end of December we have also had THAT conversation in our house - the carb-free, alcohol-free, oh my god I have a whole stone to lose one. Yes, as of January 1st we are strictly BACK TO BASICS!
We've had a little re-jig on the shop floor this morning too, taking a moment to coo over those gorgeously outlandish seasonal prints and patterns we have so loved AW17 but also appreciating those practically perfect basics. The ones that go with everything, the ones that tame a pair of intensely patterned leggings and those that come together to make a more muted yet equally beautiful and classic ensemble.
MarMar Copenhagen were a new brand for us this season, their gorgeous tulle skirt and gold lurex cardigan were one of our party picks in a previous blog post but its their newborn baby bits that have stolen our hearts. The striped and black rib pictured below are also available in rose, blue, and melange grey, both beautiful and practical.
We love that leopard is considered a basic by Mini Rodini, its such an ace print and surprisingly versatile. In our house the leggings are probably the most requested piece, I literally can't wash and dry them quickly enough for the next wear! All bases are covered from short sleeve tees and grandad shirts to rompers and bodysuits, but its the fleeces that have been proving really useful during this cold spell. I would literally live in the onesie if they made it big enough!
