Soor Ploom
Production lines have been seriously affected by Covid-19 this year which has meant multiple drops of products across almost all of our brands throughout the year. Rather excitingly that means that we still have some gorgeous product to launch for the AW20 season and there is a wonderful buzz around the final instalment from Soor Ploom, launching Monday 14th December at 3pm UK time.
Soor Ploom is SUCH a beautiful brand, producing collections that are both classic and simple but far from ordinary. Crafted from the finest fabrics including soft linens and fine cottons and manufactured both ethically and sustainably. Soor Ploom is all about the appreciation of quality over quantity.
Creating garments to be loved by more than one owner sits at the very heart of Soor Ploom. By promoting slow fashion as a more sustainable choice they are helping shape more informed buying choices for the consumer. More recently there has been a very visible shift towards caring about what we choose to purchase and wear, how it is produced and where it comes from.
Brooklyn based, we were lucky enough to visit their studio last year where we met with their amazing designer Marissa together with Marla, also on the Soor Ploom team. Seeing the way they worked (every single garment is individually checked and hand-packed!) totally cemented our love for what they are creating there and how they go about it. It was a really inspiring visit not to mention giving us the opportunity to go a bit ga-ga over all the samples that were available to lust after!
The AW20 season has already produced some absolute gems, many of which sold out at launch but a small handful of beautiful dresses do remain, limited in both number and size!
The Clementine dress comes in three different colour-ways/print designs - henna (seen here), the prettiest floral print and a delicate vertical stripe. A baby doll style dress with full balloon sleeves and bibbed yoke, it has a button and loop closure at back of the neck with a generous silhouette and is mid-length.
A small amount of the Percy dress also still remain - just one of the all over Gingham print and Swiss Dot (both age 6) and a scattering of sizes in Pomme (seen here) from 1 to 10 years. I love the ruffle detailing on this one and the Pomme colour just pops beautifully!
One of the final pieces to be launched is the eagerly awaited Agnes Sweater which comes in Henna, Ink and Maize. A cosy sweater made from 100% superwash merino wool with a full balloon sleeve in a warm, plush stitch. Detailing includes a horn button closure at shoulder and cuff and we will be stocking all three colours from age 1 to age 10.
And lastly, but by no means least, we are thrilled to be stocking the exquisite Hilma cardigan in both Henna and Maize. Again made from superwash 100% merino wool and available from 1 to 10 years of age. This heirloom cardigan has a trellis stitch and hand embroidered flower bouquets with natural horn buttons lining the front placket. This really is one of the prettiest pieces I have seen all season.
Soor Ploom is one of those brands you need to set your alarm for in order to secure the most coveted pieces. Whether new to the brand this drop, or a long term enthusiast, we wish you every luck in securing one of these beautiful items of clothing.
