Marsou - Parisian Upcycled and Recycled Fashion
New for this Spring/Summer season is Paris based French brand Marsou. Founded back in 2016 by Laetitia Flandre after 5 years of working for luxury fashion house Chanel, Laetitia combines the beauty of high end fashion with sound environmental credentials. Marsou is clothing that cares for the planet and we are thrilled to add them to our growing portfolio of beautiful, sustainable brands.
Marsou creations are designed, hand-dyed and handmade in Paris using a combination of up-cycled fabric leftovers that are sourced from luxury French fashion houses together with organic certified and eco friendly fabrics free from chemicals that might harm both the body and the Earth.
All operations are based locally, the workshops neighbour Marsou HQ and the completed orders are also despatched from their Paris office helping keep their carbon footprint to a minimum thanks to a single journey from manufacturer to retailer. Packaging is made from recycled and recyclable cotton pouches and compact shipping envelopes, rather than big and bulky boxes, are made from 100% recycled plastic.
The collection itself is timeless, the most perfect meeting of classic and contemporary and every piece produced is made with the intention of being passed down and used again. Thirteen pieces make our our Spring/Summer selection with baby clothing starting at 6 months and childrenswear up to 8 years.
The pretty Zebra pointelle cardigan comes in cream (below) as well as a beautiful clay. I'm rather partial to a ruffle and the pointelle knit gives such a feminine feel to to the jersey. Made from 100% organic cotton, the hand-dying technique used lends itself to small variations in colour making every piece unique in its own right.
The gorgeous Anemone Dress also features a (double) ruffle collar and again is made from 100% hand-dyed organic cotton, this time in the colours of azure and clay, each with its own subtle variations in style. Both versions of the dress are button through, beautifully light and easy to wear with the clay version featuring the prettiest broderie anglaise detailing. We've paired them with our go-to summer sandal by Salt-water.
We have some gorgeous rompers and one pieces for the younger ones, more pretty clays and caramels and the most stunning blue marin which comes in a beautiful textured up-cycled linen. The Hotu has short sleeves and a tie waist, featuring buttons at the crotch and shoulder to help with easy changing when required.
All of these gorgeous pieces (and more) can be found in our Spring/Summer selection from Marsou, online now.
