Mabli is a family-run brand based in Wales, specialising in natural knitwear for children, as well as an ever-growing offering for adults too.
Launched back in October 2016 (and stocked here at Junior Edition since AW18) Welsh designer Lisa Roberts is an experienced women's knitwear designer who often had envisaged her designs in miniature. Her passion for childrenswear design had always been strong, even before becoming a mother, and once Lisa started a family and returned to her roots in Wales, Mabli was born.
With a slow fashion approach and an eclectic and vintage inspired aesthetic, Mabli's signature style always includes interpreting traditional Welsh Tapestry blanket patterns in to their designs, contrasted with simple and versatile ribbed layering pieces. These are clothes that are designed with longevity in mind; made to be worn and treasured for as long as possible before being handed down to siblings or friends and loved all over again.
They use beautiful Italian-spun yarns such as 100% extra fine merino wool, linen and organic pima cotton in their garments all of which are made by trusted suppliers in Wales, Scotland and across Europe. All of the manufacturers and suppliers they work with, and materials they use, have high standards with regards to safety and ethical practices.
This season sees your favourite shapes return in a beautiful earthy colour palette with hints of brightness and warmth. In the first drop we have selected pieces with neutral bases of Almond and Umber together with jacquard patterns and stripes in Mink and Duck Egg.
The Sylfaen skinny rib long sleeve tops and leggings in supersoft extrafine merino wool are the perfect choice for little ones with hypoallergenic qualities that help to regulate body temperature and repel moisture. It feels very soft against the skin and is machine-washable, as well as being a sustainable fibre - the perfect mix of practicality and luxury.
New for this season and introduced in the very recent second drop, a special new yarn for colder days. A fluffy, soft and light air-spun Baby Alpaca blend has been used to create the stunning Sglefrio (that means skating in Welsh) styles. Classic pullovers and Tam O'Shanter style hats come kids and adult versions with the children's range expanding to include pixie hoods, scarves and leggings too. Choose from olive and walnut combinations. We are SO in love with these.
